A 12.8V 6Ah LiFePO4 pack — four hours of QRP airtime, fits in the top of a pannier, and doesn't mind a cold morning.
Power pack for POTA and SOTA outings. Paired with an Anderson Powerpole cable, it runs the IC-705 at 10 W for several hours. Safer than LiPo, flatter discharge curve than SLA, lighter than either.
It lives in a cordura bag with a Velcro cable loop and the DC fuse inline. One day it’ll come home from a summit half-empty; until then it’s been conservative.
